Shea Butter and Hair
Shea butter can be a real treat for your hair. It works wonders, especially on dry and brittle hair. It leaves hair soft and shiny. It’s also an ideal treatment for curly, colored, or permed hair. Long hair is particularly prone to split ends and breakage, and shea butter is especially effective here because it revitalizes and protects the hair.
The moisture penetrates deep into the hair while forming a protective layer around it. This helps the hair withstand the elements, UV rays, and saltwater. The scalp also benefits from a massage with shea butter, as it has a soothing and nourishing effect and helps relieve flaky and itchy scalps.
Shea butter can be used as a hair mask or conditioner before and after washing your hair. It helps restore softness and suppleness to particularly thick, damaged, and dry hair.
For longer hair, it’s best to dilute shea butter—with oil, for example—since it can be difficult to spread otherwise. Shea butter strengthens thin and fine hair, but it should be used sparingly to avoid a stringy or greasy look.
If you apply shea butter to your hair before sunbathing and swimming, it will be well protected from UV rays and salt water and will stay soft and supple. Available now in our shop.
